  • Microplastics effects and the plant based solution – Part 2

    Part 1: https://jeffbites.com/2026/07/06/microplastics-effects-and-the-plant-based-solution/

How can we combat the microplastic invasion of our bodies?

    Plants of course.

    Which plants you ask?

    Kimchi???

    What’s kimchi?

Kimchi is traditionally a Korean dish made from fermented vegetables. Napa cabbage, radish, and garlic.

The study from South Korea discovered this glorious plant based plastic binder through several studies.

In the lab, binding was as high as 87% to the microplastics. And when mimicking an environment similar to the human intestine the binding was about 57% effective in microplastic removal.

Plastic pollution is not just an environmental concern but a major health concern for all.

Turn your body into the ultimate armor combating enemies you cannot even see with a whole food plant based diet.

  • Microplastics effects and the plant based solution

Microplastics have become a major health concern.

    Why?

Tupperware, disposable water bottles, plastic containers, plastic ware, ziploc bags, you name it. It comes in multiple colors.

Plastic is a permanent part of our lives.

    You…cannot…escape.

How does plastic get into our bodies anyway? It’s not like we chew on it. My pen says otherwise. 🫠

When we eat or drink out of our plastic plates and cups nanoplastics are swallowed. Unfortunately for us we can’t digest plastic like regular foods.

They accumulate in your gut lining wreaking chaos with our bodies causing chronic inflammation, reproductive issues, neurodegenerative disease, diabetes & obesity.

Luckily for us there is a way to combat this plastic infestation.

We will explore the plant based solution in Part 2.

    “Get out of my face.”

    I get ‘down right’ selfish.

I want to rest and I deserve it and lord help anyone who gets in my way.

What if you adopted that same attitude about your work out?

  • Playing the Long Game. When eating meat may make sense??

When does it make the most since to start eating animal protein.

My 1st answer would have been never which is only partially correct but…

According to the Valter Longo of “The Longevity Diet” offers you the best health opportunity to become a Centenarian.

When your muscles start to wither due to age-related (60s or 70s) deterioration it may be time to incorporate eggs, chicken or beef back into your diet to increase protein.

This will decrease muscle imbalance as you age.

I still believe a whole food plant based diet is best the Longevity Diet is fairly close so I approve.

Come back for bite sized health tips.
